The fridge that takes up little space

Gütersloh, May 29, 2024 No. 069/2024
  • Miele launches the K 4000 generation of freestanding appliances with a height of 85 centimetres

  • Equipped with a freshness system and variable interior space

They are the perfect solution for small households or as an additional appliance: refrigerators and freezers with a height of 85 centimetres. Perfect because they fit under the kitchen worktop and even fit in small rooms. With the current generation of its K 4000 freestanding appliances, Miele is launching new models in this popular size to the market. The refrigerators and freezers offer improved energy efficiency, greater convenience and a premium design.

Space in small refrigerators is limited – making it all the more important to utilise the available space to the full. This is why Miele has equipped the new models with FlexiBoard, an adjustable glass shelf. The front part of the shelf can be moved backwards. This creates space for tall containers such as carafes. The freezers are no less spacious, with drawers that can be swapped or removed to accommodate larger frozen foods (VarioRoom). When larger quantities need to be stored, the SuperFrost function ensures that the food is frozen quickly and gently.

The new fresh food drawer also offers plenty of space in the fridge, and thanks to the DailyFresh system, food stays fresh for up to twice as long as in the conventional vegetable compartment. This is made possible by an adjustable opening in the drawer lid that allows the humidity inside the drawer to be regulated. In particular, this keeps fruit and vegetables fresh for longer.

Whether fridge or freezer: a good overview of the contents is important. Both are now optimally illuminated with energy-saving LEDs that are bright and glare-free. They also have modern, intuitive controls. All new appliances are network-compatible and can therefore also be controlled via the Miele app.

The interior and exterior design of the new refrigerators reflect Miele's premium standards: In addition to high-quality materials and workmanship, the horizontal recessed grip is now a distinguishing feature. It replaces the conventional handle and is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also easy to clean.

The new model range comprises two refrigerators with and without a freezer compartment and three four-drawer freezers, including a model with NoFrost, which makes manual defrosting superfluous. All appliances are already available.
