With new products and services, Miele aims to simplify the life of hotel and restaurant owners – and ensure that guests feel at home. The spotlight at the Intergastra and Internorga trade shows will be on new ironers, and not only for on-premise laundries. And there will be new products for the kitchen, too: Fresh water dishwashers with a fan-assisted drying system, and high-end ready-to-serve meals delivered to your doorstep. (Intergastra, Stuttgart, February 15-19, Building 3, Booth 3 B 31; Internorga, Hamburg, March 13-17, Building A 3, Booth 306).
As easily installed as domestic washing machines and tumble dryers, and much more: SmartBiz is the name of a new model series from Miele, available from January 2020, representing a stepping stone into the world of commercial laundry care. Wherever up to three programmes are run a day – for example in small businesses, guesthouses, child-care centres, schools or even in larger households – machines catering for a 7 kg load represent a robust and long-lasting alternative at attractive prices.
Vertical Farming is a term used by futurologists to denote multi-level greenhouses providing a local and space-saving supply of fresh produce, for example in urban conurbations. With the Plantcube from Agrilution, this revolutionary concept is now finding its way into private households. Fully automatic, small-scale vertical farms are no larger than a standard refrigerator, offer perfect growing conditions combined with minimal effort – and are a design highlight in any kitchen or living room. With Agrilution's concept, Miele is further expanding its expertise in the field of the diversity of pleasures and healthy living.
Miele initiates thorough transformation 120 years after its inception. The objective is to expand the company's leading market position in the premium segment for domestic appliances and commercial machines whilst at the same time sustainably securing the economic standing of the entire Miele Group. This realignment will result in clear savings in terms of business costs which will also impact staffing levels. This is to be done with the least possible social impact, and in close collaboration with Works Councils.
The Miele WDB 330 WPS SpeedCare washing machine came out test winner with a mark of 1.6 in the current Stiftung Warentest (StiWa) washing machine test. This outcome puts this machine in a clear lead over others on the podium. In total, StiWa put ten front-loading washing machines with load capacities ranging from 6 to 8 kg through their paces. The test in its entirety is published in StiWa's November 2019 issue.
Miele dishwashers were the sole winners in the current test conducted by Germany's consumer watchdog Stiftung Warentest (StiWa, test 10/2019). The fully integrated model G 6770 SCVi and its technically identical integrated counterpart G 6730 SCi (both with A+++ energy efficiency rating) were awarded the top mark of 2.0. Miele also submitted the best dishwasher (G 4990 SCVi/G 4940 SCi) among model versions with an A++ rating. The test covered a total of 20 models, whereof twelve had an A+++ and eight an A++ rating.
Wherever large quantities of mops and cleaning cloths need to be reprocessed in confined spaces, Miele's Little Giants have proved their worth: Compact washing machines and tumble dryers, well known under the MopStar label and – depending on the model – available with load capacities of 6 to 8 kg of cleaning textiles. The latest models, only introduced a few months ago, can be purchased outright, rented or leased.
Offering great user convenience, economical in use and equipped with everything to take utmost care of cleaning textiles: Washing machines marketed by Miele under the MopStar logo are indispensable in any contract cleaning situation. Machines with load capacities of 13, 14, 18 and 20 kg complement the range of smaller models – and can also be rented or leased.
The Motel One at Cologne's Neumarkt square practices strict segregation: Showers are cleaned with yellow cloths, toilets with red ones and mirrors with blue, whilst green is reserved for the kitchen. Mops made from cotton and microfibres are available for parquet and other floor coverings. All used items land in red baskets. These wing their way via the shortest route to a room where washing machines and tumble dryers from Miele are waiting.
Commercial dishwashers are just the job wherever much larger volumes of crockery need washing than in private households. These machines don't do things by halves, neither on land nor at sea: Cycle times are short and convenience features ensure hygienically clean dishes. Now there are new Miele Marine models which have been successfully tested and certified by the Lloyd's Register classification organisation.
Miele upgrades its bestseller among its cooking appliances. For greater elegance and improved functionality, the induction hob with its integrated extractor now has a flush-fitted grille.
60 cm wide thermal disinfectors increasingly flexible and with larger capacity for instruments – thanks to new accessories. For instance, a module will be available for the lower basket from December 2019 which is equipped with two additional rows of injector nozzles. It offers space for 22 nozzles previously only available for the upper basket. This results in a doubling of the number of connections for the reprocessing of hand-pieces and contra-angles as well as other lumened instruments to 44 per cycle, leaving dental surgeries able to rise to the challenge of increasing patient numbers.
At today's IFA press conference, Miele unveiled its first rechargeable handstick vacuum cleaner. The flexibility of the Triflex with its 3-in-1 concept, patents pending, was graphically presented on stage by Executive Director and Co-Proprietor Dr. Markus Miele. Further highlights presented by Dr. Reinhard Zinkann, likewise Executive Director and Co-Proprietor, included washing machines and tumble dryers which go about their work faster and in a more environmentally friendly way, are intelligently networked and allow items of laundry to be added almost through to the end of a programme.
Almost one-third of vacuum cleaner purchasers in Europe now opt for a rechargeable model, with the trend continuing unabated. At IFA, the long-standing market leader in the canister vacuum field is now set to launch a convincing model range to cater for this fledgling market segment. Miele's TriFlex HX1 excels by virtue of its excellent suction performance and exceptional flexibility which is reflected in its name.
At IFA, Miele will once again assert its leading role in laundry care – with new models that wash and dry even faster, more conveniently and in a way that places less strain on the environment. For example, forgotten items, no matter how large, can now be added to the wash almost through to the end of a programme. Washing and drying cycles will again be shortened considerably, without this compromising either cleaning performance or the gentle care of fabrics. Further convenience is promised by direct communication between the washing machine and the dryer.
A cooker hood is expected to be effective, to go about its work discreetly and to elegantly blend in with the kitchen. This feat – and much more besides – is mastered by the new Aura 4.0 Ambient from Miele with flying colours. It combines highly efficient ventilation technology with customisable ambient lighting and regulatable humidity. And, what is unique on the market: Three delicate dream-inducing fragrances round off an ambience which appeals to the senses.
With its vertical glass panel, the DA 9090 W Screen wall hood is reminiscent of a slimline extractor – and takes up an equally small amount of space. Miele's new hood also blends in perfectly in kitchens characterised by straight lines and a reduced design. It also offers taller persons greater freedom when cooking at the hob.
With its Generation 7000 built-in appliances, Miele is making cooking simpler and more intuitive than ever before: As for example with the first camera able to withstand the intense heat of a pyrolytic oven. And what's more, a clever guardian watches over cakes as they bake to ensure they never become too dry. The new induction hobs can cater for up to 6 pots and pans placed and moved around anywhere on the ceramic glass screen, dispensing with the need to select or join rings.
Large, spacious and highly representative: Refrigeration products from Miele's MasterCool built-in series. European design quality paired with American dimensions, now further enhanced. The new generation offers even greater convenience, a broader range of models and perfect integration into handleless kitchen. New lighting and contemporary controls, even linking up to an app, are features common to all models.
The majority of new Generation 7000 built-in Miele appliances are connectivity-enabled when they leave the factory gates. New, attractive applications to be presented by the company at the IFA trade show are set to trigger further demand, whetting the appetite for a smarter home. These include cooking assistance systems and an application which treats coffee connoisseurs to their own customised espresso. Greater convenience is now also offered by connectivity on laundry-care products – and augmented reality takes shopping with Miele to new heights.
Miele’s number of the year throughout 2019 is 120 as the company celebrates its 120-year history with attractive 'Series 120' promotional models. Dryers, washer-dryers, ovens, the FashionMaster ironing system, semi-commercial dishwashers and canister vacuum cleaners using dustbags will be available through dealers in the second half of the year. These join products such as coffee machine, washing machine, dishwashers, bagless vacuum cleaners and fridge-freezer combination which have been available since spring.
Miele is set to complement its system for dental practices with four new small steam sterilisers. Their short cycles, intuitive user interface and an innovative drying support dentists in the daily reprocessing of their instruments. These new products will be available from the end of October 2019 onwards.
Smart details and features make Miele flatwork ironers more convenient, versatile and efficient. This allows more than 100 kg to be processed per hour. There are three new entries in the large-product category in Miele's portfolio, with working lengths of between 180 cm and 210 cm. These products will be available from mid-October onwards.
The Miele Group continues to grow despite a cooling world economy and increased competition. In the 2018/19 financial year which ended on June 30, 2019, the world's leading manufacturer of premium domestic appliances achieved sales of € 4.16 bn. This corresponds to a growth in sales of 1.5%. Excluding trade through Miele's Korean subsidiary Yujin Robot, incorporated for the first time in company accounts, group turnover would have been 0.2% higher than in the previous year.
Wherever large volumes of mops and cleaning cloths need to be cleaned on a daily basis, Miele offers technology which rises to the challenge: Washing machines and dryers with load capacities from 6 to 32 kg – to suit contract cleaners' needs and the space available. All machines can be purchased outright, rented or leased, and equipped with useful accessories. Miele's booth at the CMS in Berlin provides an overview of the product portfolio (September 24-27, Hall 4.2, Booth 128).
Energy-efficient, innovative domestic appliances make a key contribution towards greater sustainability in homes. Consequently, Miele strives to continue to increase energy efficiency across all product groups. The sustainability report published today illustrates just how well Miele has succeeded in doing this. For example, 99% of all washing machines achieve the top A+++ energy efficiency rating, even overperforming by as much as 50%.
To mark the company's 120th birthday, Miele is further improving the specifications of its washers and dryers from the successful Octoplus series: Without any increase in price, the load capacity has been upped from a previous 8 kg to 9 kg.
The cooking expertise of 12 international chefs and Miele's Dialog oven – these are the ingredients of the 'The Chef's Dialog', a star-spangled cooking event staged in Gütersloh for the first time. Thanks to the ingenuity of the chefs, new recipes were created uniquely for preparation in the innovative cooking appliance.
Freestanding Miele lab washers from the SlimLine range deliver on the promise in the name: With a width of only 65 cm, they require only a small footprint whilst offering maximum capacity. Telescopic racks which can be fitted at various levels inside the chamber are the secret to the best possible use of available space.
With its EasyLoad range of accessories, Miele is reducing the effort needed to load its lab washers and protecting load items against damage. Laboratory glassware is automatically correctly positioned in the load carrier, and newly developed injector nozzles guarantee thorough internal cleaning of glasses of different shapes and sizes – from test tubes to large Erlenmeyer flasks.
What began 90 years ago was to become a most extraordinarily arresting success story – marked by impressive technical milestones and millions of satisfied customers. The most recently produced 20-millionth dishwasher is a G 7310 SC Clst. This means that it belongs to the G 7000 generation, which was launched in autumn of last year. Thanks to AutoDos with integrated PowerDisk, this model to celebrate the anniversary dispenses automatically.
Robust, powerful, fast and versatile: This equally applies to the smallest commercial washing machines and tumble dryers from Miele - Little Giants. The new generation of products also excels with 'good design quality and high innovation potential', says the jury of the coveted Red Dot design awards – and promptly awarded the Little Giants 'Performance Plus' model range with their coveted prize which counts among the most significant of its kind.
In installations where large quantities of laundry need to be washed clean in confined spaces, Miele's Little Giants have been living up to expectations for over 40 years. Now, existing washing machines and tumble dryers are to be replaced by two radically new model series: As before, the machines still require no more than half a square metre of space, but now boast an increased load capacity. At the same time, water and electricity consumption is set to drop. With a new touch display, the user interface is considerably simpler and hence safer. This also includes hygiene programmes which protect residents and staff against any cross-contamination.
New undercounter tank dishwashers from Miele offer greater convenience than ever before. The user interface with its high-resolution full touch display is child's play to use and is simple to the point of virtually eliminating operating mistakes. In addition, operating costs are cut significantly by an optimised washing system. Furthermore, the dishwashers due to be launched in 2Q19 guarantee perfect cleaning results.
Washing, drying, sorting and transportation: All available from Miele as a single-source supplier. The Gütersloh-based laundry technology pioneer has teamed up with Thermotex, the world leader in the labelling of laundry. In combination with Miele machines, Thermotex products significantly simplify and speed up processes in on-premise laundries – implementing solutions for efficient laundry management. This starts with the receipt of laundry.
14 is now the proud number of design prizes which Miele has been awarded since the beginning of this year. After seven iF product design awards, the company was called up again seven times at the 'Red Dot Award: Product Design 2019'. Five awards refer to the new Generation 7000 built-in appliances alone, which are due for launch in May.
Miele machines came out with flying colours at this year's iF Product Design Awards. The G 7965 SCVi dishwasher and MasterCool refrigeration products – MasterCool is due to hit the European market in September of this year – were even awarded the iF Gold Award 2019 by the jury for their design excellence.
It is about time to combine the digital and physical dimensions of living spaces in a way that creates real added value for the customer. That is one of the results of a top-class round table initiated by GROHE, Miele and Viessmann at the ISH in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. In the course of the "Intelligent Living Summit", GROHE CEO Michael Rauterkus, Miele Executive Director - Marketing and Sales Dr. Axel Kniehl and Viessmann Co-CEO Max Viessmann jointly claimed: Customers no longer regard Smart Home devices as toys but increasingly expect intelligent solutions that offer real added value.
Miele's Little Giants are the product of choice in businesses where large quantities of mops and cleaning cloths have to be cleaned on a daily basis. In April, compact washing machines and tumble dryers under the MopStar label sporting load capacities of 6 kg and 8 kg are due out. As previously, the new machines require only half a square metre of floor space but are able to take even more cleaning textiles.

Nobody likes to have to hang around long in a launderette. Laundry machines are in operation for hours on end, must be robust and easy to maintain – and, not least, fast. Just like Little Giants from Miele which have been proving their worth where domestic appliances are simply overstretched for more than 40 years. Fresh bath towels in the massage parlour and the sauna, and no end of luxurious bathing gowns: What visitors to spas, saunas and massage parlours take for granted results in huge mountains of laundry. Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants has announced that JL Studio in Taichung, Taiwan, is the 2019 recipient of the prestigious Miele One To Watch Award. Selected by the organisers of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants, in collaboration with its regional experts, the Miele One To Watch title is presented to a restaurant that is outside the Asia’s 50 Best list but identified as the rising star of the region.
In particular with small dental surgeries in mind, Miele is launching new thermal disinfectors: As countertop or undercounter versions or freestanding – depending on the space available and required degree of ergonomics.
Dentists are under obligation to document the successful reprocessing of their instruments. To assist with this task, Miele Professional is now offering a particularly time-saving solution based on an app. This receives cycle protocols automatically from a thermal disinfector, allowing cycle reports to be generated at a tablet PC – without a cable, USB flash memory or any other intermediate steps.
Laundry has a great contribution to make in dental practices in preventing the spread of bacteria and diseases. To protect patients and staff alike, Miele recommends washing and drying workwear in designated disinfection programmes – something that can only be done properly in commercial machines. Take, for instance, the new Little Giants from Miele with their special 'Hygiene' programmes which are due to hit the market in April. These compact laundry machines require only half a square metre of floor space, can be stacked on top of each other and have a load capacity of 7 kg.
Miele and W&H, two tradition-rich, family-owned quality manufacturers, are set to mutually strengthen their product portfolios. This was announced by the two companies in the run-up to the IDS, the world's largest dental trade show in Cologne, Germany. The partners are using this event to present their extended ranges of products for the reprocessing of dental instruments for the first time.
Whether new compact washing machines offering disinfection, electronically controlled assignment of laundry items, or tailored hygienic dishwashing solutions: At the 'Altenpflege 2019' age-care exhibition, Miele will be demonstrating once again how recurrent work in care and nursing homes will be further simplified and optimised (Nuremberg, April 2-4, Building 006, Stand B 16).
With its Generation 7000, Miele is renewing its entire product range of built-in kitchen appliances, from ovens and hob units to steam ovens, coffee machines through to dishwashers. Aesthetically, Generation 7000 with its four new design lines offers inspiration for virtually every interior design style. A further benefit is the ease with which the new Miele appliances help their users to attain culinary excellence. With its Generation 7000, Miele is introducing nearly 3,000 model versions worldwide. The new range comes under starter's orders in May 2019.
Clear forms, high-quality materials, excellent workmanship and an intuitive interface: These are the assets of Generation 7000 design, as demonstrated in four new design lines and three colour worlds as well as one version with stainless steel. Miele offers a matching solution for each home interior style, unobtrusively integrated or making a bold statement. User interfaces have been carefully reappraised and are more in line with each other than ever before, for the most intuitive handling and matching combination options.
The path to culinary excellence is now laid-back and relaxed. This is demonstrated by the new wall ovens from Miele's Generation 7000. With TasteControl, a world first, and the innovations FoodView and MotionReact, these machines have intelligent assistants on board, helping to avoid mishaps and creating space for what is most important: Creativity and inspiration and more time for your guests.
No appliance manufacturer has promoted the interests of steam cooking more than Miele. As early as 1998, the company presented a steam oven with a water tank in the form of the DG 163 - a model easily accommodated in an existing kitchen, heralding the establishment of a new product category over the following years. With its Generation 7000, Miele is now presenting its fifth model series and what amounts to the broadest and most innovative array of machines on the market: Steam ovens, steam ovens with integrated microwave, combi steam ovens (combination of steam oven and conventional oven) as well as a pressure cooker.
A kitchen without a microwave? – For many, that is simply not an option. All the more reason for Miele to devote the attention it deserves to this product category. The new built-in Generation 7000 models take consideration of calls for various sizes and feature sets and their design lends itself perfectly to combination with other products such as wall ovens.
Gourmet warmer drawers and a vacuum-sealing drawer do a perfect job in rounding off the culinary lineup of the 7000 generation of built-in appliances, and constitute an important part of the Miele design system. In comparison to their predecessors, technical details on these products have undergone improvement.
Miele shows how the enjoyment of coffee can be increased with Generation 7000 built-in coffee makers. The top CVA 7845 model has an on-board supply of up to three different types of beans, brews each cup without any cross-blending, descales automatically and dispenses with the tiresome job of having to clean milk lines and degrease the brew unit. Thanks to a complete redesign, these coffee machines are even quieter than their predecessors. Further details exclusive to Miele are a cup sensor which aligns the spout with the height of the cup or beaker and performance modes for currently preferred settings.
Since the launch of the Dialog oven in 2018, one thing has become clear: With this product, Miele has taken cooking to a new level. Now, this revolutionary cooking appliance comes in the design of Miele's Generation 7000 range of built-in appliances, and will hence be available in the PureLine and VitroLine designs and in stainless steel, graphite grey, obsidian black and brilliant white. One reason more to opt for the Dialog oven is the unique MChef gourmet service which is due to expand to deliver throughout Germany from the beginning of the year.
Unchallenged cream of the cream among hob units: full-surface induction represents untold freedom when it comes to cooking. Up to six pots, pans and even casserole dishes can be positioned anywhere on the hob unit and even moved around. And induction cooks fast, uses little electricity and the ceramic glass screen stays easy to clean. All this is united on top models from Miele's Generation 7000 range of hob units. Two further clever details: Thanks to a new printing process, pots and pans slide virtually noiselessly and smoothly over the surface of the hob unit. And ring settings travel automatically with the pot. Miele first presented these hob units at the IFA 2018 trade show as a herald of Generation 7000 built-in appliances. They are due to hit the market starting in April 2019.
Miele promises unparalleled dishwashing freedom – thanks to AutoDos with integrated PowerDisk. This unique system dispenses detergent automatically and uses powder granulate specially designed for the purpose. Furthermore, the new dishwashers can be controlled by app and programmed from a mobile device. All that remains for the user to do is to load and unload the machine and occasionally replace the PowerDisk; everything else can be left to the machine.
With its Generation 7000 built-in appliances, Miele is expanding its connectivity repertoire in the kitchen. In order to offer services to as many customers as possible without the need for any further retrofitting of components - both currently and in future - most new models feature WiFi connectivity as standard. New, too, is the RemoteService function with which domestic appliances will in future remain up to date.
Significant reductions in consumption and simpler operation: These are the key advantages of the new washing machines, tumble dryers and tank dishwashers for commercial applications to be presented by Miele at Internorga 2019. Whereas the products themselves take up little space on account of their compact design, Miele's exhibition at the show is spacious: On an area covering almost 100 m², restaurant owners and hoteliers will be able to experience the current portfolio of the Gütersloh-based company live in Hamburg from March 15 - 19 (Building A 3, Booth 308).
