Miele’s new thermal disinfectors are ideal for practices where large volumes of instruments need to be reprocessed. With a width of just 65 centimetres, the models from the SlimLine series can be installed in rooms where space is limited. They can easily be integrated into a network or monitored remotely via Miele’s online portals. Furthermore, intelligent technology adjusts the pump performance to guarantee a fast cleaning phase and to save water in the rinse phase.

The SlimLine thermal disinfectors have a loading height of 85 centimetres and are available as a single-door (PWD 7121) or two-door (PWD 7122) model. They have a wash cabinet volume of 252 litres and a mobile unit with three levels, making them ideal for the requirements of large practices and dental care centres. Furthermore, the PWD 7122 two-door model is separated into a clean side and an unclean side. All models feature full-glass doors for easy monitoring during reprocessing. The disinfectors can be operated intuitively via a seven-inch colour display, even when wearing gloves.

The new APLW 217 load basket was developed for the wash cabinet in these models, providing space for reprocessing dental instruments and trays on three levels. It can be flexibly equipped with modules for all standard instruments – for example, with up to three injector modules for cleaning inside a maximum of 66 lumened instruments. Furthermore, a load comprising 24 dental trays and other instruments, for example, can be reprocessed in one programme cycle. The spray arm monitoring function makes sure that the spray arms are rotating correctly and sends a signal straight away if there is any deviation.

Intelligent pump technology adapts to the respective process steps. Higher pump speeds in the cleaning phases enable increased pump performance and intensive cleaning with short running times. In the rinse phases, by contrast, a low speed is sufficient, which means that water consumption can be reduced.

Pre-heating tank reduces programme running time

Some model variants are equipped with a pre-heating tank which heats the wash water during the cleaning programme so it is at the appropriate temperature for the final rinse. This reduces the running time by up to ten minutes and increases the throughput. A dispensing cabinet underneath the wash cabinet provides space for three canisters, each containing five litres of process chemicals.

During the final drying phase, a HEPA H14 filter prevents particles and germs in the ambient air from getting inside. The loading height of 85 centimetres allows staff to work ergonomically and a stable trolley is available for transporting the machine to the treatment rooms.

Both SlimLine models can be connected to a local network via an Ethernet or WiFi connection. The benefit for customers is that the existing infrastructure can continue to be used, so the costs and effort involved remain manageable. Furthermore, a connection to the Miele MOVE Connect and MIELE MOVE MedDent+ portals enables mobile management via PC, smartphone or tablet. This allows users to check remotely whether a machine is ready for unloading, for example, and means that reprocessing can be documented quickly and easily.
