'Discover quality ahead of its time. For a better tomorrow’. – Under this motto, the world's leading manufacturer of premium domestic appliances is reporting back for its first IFA trade show since 2019. What this means in detail was unveiled by the two Executive Directors and Co-Proprietors Dr. Markus Miele and Dr. Reinhard Zinkann as well as Dr. Axel Kniehl, Executive Director Marketing & Sales with the Miele Group, at the company's traditional IFA press conference. From September 2-6, the focus will be on how Miele protects the environment and the climate and assists customers in living better and more sustainably. These issues are joined by exciting new products and features for smart cooking and stylish pleasure which are only available in this form from Miele.
Faced with the climate crisis and rocketing energy prices, the responsible use of energy is more urgently needed than ever before. For that reason, Miele supports its customers in making their machines, which are already highly efficient and feature smart functions*, even more environmentally friendly. This is facilitated by a genial Consumption Dashboard in the app, machines linked to solar technology and, not least, by Miele's involvement in an international research project.
Miele is igniting the next booster stage in the development of assisted cooking as it continues to add artificial intelligence (AI) to its applications – for intuitive cooking and more fun in the kitchen.* Smart Food ID, the automatic recognition and preparation of food using a camera in the oven, is due to come under starter's orders in 15 European countries. A highlight for all those who like to share their cooking skills on social media: the new Picture Share feature, allowing an image taken by the oven camera to be forwarded to friends in the blinking of an eye. And with CookAssist, providing app-based instructions for the best possible frying and roasting results on Miele induction hobs, Amazon's Alexa will in future announce the next stages of preparation.
'Hey Google, good morning' – The day gets off to a more relaxed start when the coffee machine preheats, the cooker hood switches on its subdued ambient lighting and the sound system streams your favourite songs. Such scenarios can now be compiled individually by Miele customers: with networked home appliances and with voice control with Google Assistant-enabled devices, which has been available since June. At the same time, Miele has got off the ground in China with the 'Tmall Genie' language assistant from Alibaba, the nation's favourite. This now means that voice control of Miele domestic appliances is possible with the world's leading eco systems*, as, alongside Google and Alibaba, the company has supported Amazon Alexa since 2018.
The lettuce looks limp, carrots are like rubber and even apples, carefully selected at the market stall, are no longer crunchy. So throw them away? All too often, the answer is 'yes'! In order to avoid this set of circumstances, your refrigerator needs the right type of freshness system. Miele is presenting a new generation of free-standing refrigerators at IFA which will make precisely that contribution towards avoiding food wastage whilst at the same time offering the ultimate in convenience in the form of a freezer zone, an innovative highlight which can also be used for refrigeration.
The letter A is writ large on the energy label: Miele is to present a new generation of free-standing refrigerators along with fridge-freezer combinations in the best possible energy efficiency class under the new regime. All this is possible thanks to a particularly effective approach to insulation which ensures that the energy efficiency of Miele models remains high throughout the entire life cycle of the products.
Cooking enthusiasts value the combination of oven and steam cooker as the pinnacle of built-in kitchen appliance technology – and in this respect no-one else has more experience and diversity to offer than Miele. Customers can choose between recesses with a height of 45 or 60 cm, integrated tank or plumbed-in unit, and various design lines, colours and user interfaces. Now, the world's leading supplier of premium domestic appliances is upgrading its portfolio with an exceptionally convenient HydroClean self-cleaning function. Combi steam ovens from the DGC HC Pro series with their stainless-steel interiors are built at Miele's Bünde factory and tested to last 20 years. The market launch is scheduled for December.
A combination of conventional oven and steam cooking is the supreme discipline among built-in kitchen appliances – an area in which Miele has the longest experience and the broadest range of products. In the past, such a broad range of preparation methods in one and the same unit was the preserve of high-priced flagship models. As a new entry point into the world of Miele combi steam ovens, the company is now launching a complete new series of products for a 60 cm recess – and all that for less than € 2,000.
TwoInOne - Nomen est omen: The induction hob with an integrated extractor combines the best from the two Miele competence centres in Bünde and Arnsberg. These elegant multitalents have been in particularly big demand for several years in the design of open-plan kitchens. The company is now augmenting its portfolio with the inclusion of two very powerful yet quiet models with a new fan system.
With a full-surface induction hob, freedom during cooking is boundless: Up to six pots, pans or casserole dishes can be positioned anywhere on the Miele hob and moved around at will. To avoid scratches during cooking and when sliding items around, the Gütersloh-based family-owned Miele company is now adding a special coating to the ceramic glass screen on its top models: DiamondFinish is one of the most resilient surface finishes on the market and hence particularly scratch-resistant.
Greater elegance, more convenience and increased performance for your money – Miele is further upgrading its successful entry-line oven model from the H 2000 series. The most noticeable modifications are the expansive use of obsidian black glass and the text display. For the first time, too, 15 automatic programmes will be available for the simple and effortless preparation of popular classic dishes. These models are produced at Miele's Oelde plant and are tested to last 20 years.
Climate change, a dramatic increase in electricity costs, working from home – Improving energy efficiency and sustainability in the home is a more crucial than ever before. In this field, Miele is once again setting new standards with its dishwashers from the current G 7000 generation. Whether through an A rating for energy efficiency on almost all models, a particularly fast Eco programme, an optional hot water connection or the exclusive AutoDos dispensing system: A choice in favour of a dishwasher from Miele not only takes the strain off the environment and the climate but also goes easy on the wallet. Moreover, all Miele dishwashers are tested for 20 years of use. At the IFA exhibition, the family-run company is now presenting a new Consumption Dashboard as part of the Miele App which brings transparency to actual energy and water consumption and provides tips on how to economise.*
Over and over again, Miele keeps on confirming its leading role in the field of sustainable laundry care – for example with excellent consumption but also with top-class performance and the ultimate in user convenience. No excessively long cycle times in the Eco programme, no trade-offs in terms of results, and even small quantities are washed energy-efficiently. Even under the clearly stricter regime of the new energy label, almost all frontloaders from Miele are now in the top A energy efficiency class. And, not to forget: As the only manufacturer in its branch, Miele tests all its front-loading washing machines to last 20 years and manufactures them with a metal content of up to 80 percent for a long, glitch-free life cycle and good recyclability. With all these efforts, Miele is making sustainability fit for everyday use – and those opting for a washing machine from Miele are making their own personal contribution towards the active protection of the environment and the climate.
An important step towards greater sustainability in the home was marked by the introduction of heat-pump dryers: Whereas conventional condenser and vented dryers to this day reach at best a B rating for energy efficiency, the top Miele models equipped with a heat pump exceed the best current A+++ energy efficiency rating by a further 10 percent. For the sake of the environment, Miele has removed dryers without heat-pump technology from its range entirely – and combined this step with the launch of a particularly attractive entry-line model: The Miele TCA 230 WP achieves an excellent A++ rating and is available from € 899 (RRP in Germany). The market launch is at IFA.
The battle to curb climate change is possibly the biggest global challenge of our day and age. It is the responsibility of each individual to contribute towards saving the planet. 'Saving our home on Earth is a battle against the clock', stresses Dr. Markus Miele, Executive Director and Co-Proprietor of the eponymous domestic appliance manufacturer, at their IFA press conference. Since the company was set up, great attention has always been attached to sustainability in all its facets, starting with the proverbial quality and durability of Miele appliances through to Miele's stand at the exhibition which also subscribes to sustainability criteria.
Cordless vacuum cleaning is practical and effective – providing that suction, battery power and user convenience align. The positive feedback reflected this when Miele launched the Triflex HX1, its first cordless handstick, in 2019. Now, the second generation of this compact allrounder from Miele's Bielefeld plant, the Triflex HX2, brings together the unique flexibility of its predecessor with further increased suction power and improved user convenience. Following a technical and optical facelift, the Triflex HX1 will remain in the range as a new entry-line model. The market launch of the two-model series was already in April, now the trade fair premiere follows at the IFA.
Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD was voted test winner by German consumer watchdog Stiftung Warentest. This verdict was based on the October 2021 test which put robovacs and robot mops through their paces. As this version of the Scout was not yet on sale at the time, this model was subsequently tested and added to the initial test results.
Many commercial machines have similar dimensions to washing machines, tumble dryers and dishwashers designed for domestic use. But they have more to offer: Inside, they use even more rugged componentry to match the higher strain of commercial use and ensure particularly short programme cycles. For example, 8 kg of laundry are washed and dried in around 90 minutes – or two baskets of dirty crockery are cleaned in only 5 minutes. At IFA 2022, Miele Professional will be presenting numerous models in this size range, products which are also connectivity-enabled.
Sustainability and climate protection will dominate the presentation of the world's leading manufacturer of premium domestic appliances at the IFA in Berlin. A keen focus will be on the new technologies and features with which Miele aims to protect the environment and support users in acting more responsibly. These will feature alongside clever innovations for creative cooking and lifestyle which are only available from Miele. The family-owned company will present more than 400 appliances at a 3000 m² booth in Building 2.1, accompanied by inspirational live events and starred chefs-de-cuisine offering food to sample. Trade fair motto: 'Discover quality that's ahead of its time. For a better future'.
