Network-enabled thermal disinfectors from Miele with chamber lighting and glass door

Gütersloh/Cologne, March 25, 2025 No. 036/2025
  • New colour touch display facilitates workflows

  • Honoured with the iF Design Award 2024

  • Proven technology for safe and efficient instrument reprocessing

From May 2025, Miele is offering new, network-enabled thermal disinfectors to meet individual requirements in every dental practice. The illuminated wash cabinet in the 60 cm wide undercounter machines makes loading easier and the colour touch display is intuitive to use. Proven technology such as pressure and spray arm monitoring ensures safe and efficient instrument reprocessing. Two systems are available for the subsequent drying process.

The design of Miele undercounter models fulfils even demanding conditions and has received the renowned iF Design Award 2024 even before it has been launched on the market. The machines feature wash cabinet lighting as standard to make loading and unloading easier. They can be supplied in a white or stainless steel version and are available with a glass door in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, so users can keep an eye on their instruments at all times during reprocessing.

The display language can be changed on the machine display at any time and the reprocessing status is easily readable even from a distance of several metres. Cycles can be approved directly at the machine, simplifying many day-to-day processes. The display also provides practice staff with digital support for routine tasks they can carry out themselves – with the aid of visual elements which help them to use the machine, resolve problems on their own and thus reduce downtimes. Up to 24 programmes, such as ones for cleaning transmission instruments internally, are available, and there are also five free programme slots for individual requirements.

Monitoring functions for reliable programme sequences

A patented, variable-speed circulation pump, which adjusts the water pressure as needed, and the supply of water and drying air from the rear panel ensure efficient cleaning. A spray arm and rinse pressure monitoring feature keeps an eye on the respective programme sequence and detects blockages caused by large instruments, for example.

Two drying systems support the optimised workflows. In addition to machines with active drying, models with the AutoOpen function are available: this causes the door to open automatically at the end of the programme once the temperature in the wash cabinet has reached a safe level. This allows the residual air to dissipate in a short space of time and the instruments dry quickly. A steam condenser conveys the moisture remaining in the wash cabinet outside. A highly efficient class H13 HEPA air filter prevents particles from the ambient air from flowing into the drying system and being deposited on the instruments. In addition, there is a central filter for reprocessing narrow-lumened instruments that is reusable in almost all applications and enables huge cost savings to be achieved with respect to consumables.

All new thermal disinfectors are network-enabled and can be connected to the Miele MOVE MedDent+ digital platform. The platform enables information such as machine data to be viewed on mobile devices and process data to be documented from any location (see Press release No. 034/2025).

To ensure reliable availability in daily work at the practice, core components are located in positions that are easier for Miele Customer Service to access than in the previous generation – a detail that significantly reduces the time required for maintenance work. Having been designed to work for at least 15,000 operating hours and with spare parts availability of 15 years, Miele thermal disinfectors are sustainable and reliable partners for day-to-day practice operations.
