New baskets and inserts for beakers and bowls
Since the beginning of last year, many restaurateurs and caterers have been under legal obligation to offer reusable containers for to-go consumption which can be returned after use. For the most part, these items are made from plastic – a material which poses challenges when it comes to dishwashing. Miele offers a practical solution for everyday use for fresh water and tank dishwashers: with new baskets and inserts in which beakers and bowls are held securely in place, hygienically clean and then reliably dried.
Commercial fresh water dishwashers from the MasterLine series feature two rack levels providing for large numbers of reusable items. The APFD 417 insert was specifically designed for use in the upper basket and can accommodate up to 25 reusable beakers and bowls.
The APFD 222 basket is intended for use on the lower level and in tank dishwashers. It also accommodates bowls or 25 beakers. There is also an insert for nine matching lids. And to ensure that light-weight load items are not dislodged during the wash process, this basket comes with a cover to weigh down items. This prevents beakers from being jostled around when the basket is pushed into the machine. In all cases, items of crockery are positioned at an incline to induce run-off.
Elevated final rinse temperatures on all models ensure reliable drying performance to compensate for the fact that plastic does not store heat easily. The fresh water dishwashers additionally feature the Dry+ option which evacuates hot, moist-laden air from the cabinet during the drying process and replaces it with fresh ambient air – ensuring that reusable items are ready for use again fast.
