Miele induction hob units with MattFinish combine unique design and excellent scratch resistance

Gütersloh/Rödinghausen, September 15, 2023. No. 107/2023
  • Matt ceramic glass with structured finish

Less soiling thanks to anti-fingerprint effect

The first ceramic glass revolutionised the kitchen more than 50 years ago. Attractive design, durability and ease of cleaning have been the key drivers of this success story. Whether conventional electric or induction hob unit – these timeless classics are an integral part of modern kitchens. Miele expands its portfolio through the addition of two induction hob units with MattFinish ceramic glass. Its surface is particularly resistant to scratches and fingerprints.

With the new MattFinish ceramic glass surface, the new induction hob units set themselves apart at first glance from their counterparts. The matt black surfaces blend in perfectly with high-end kitchens with a reduced, minimalistic design. The velvety dark colour now also has a firm place in interior design and appears elegant and timeless in kitchens.

The new surface finishes are also highly resistant to scratches. All too easily, salt or even sand and grit from vegetables ends up on the glass ceramic surface. When pots and pans then slide around, unsightly scratches occur which cannot be removed, even with great effort. Things are different with MattFinish: Fine score marks are significantly reduced compared with conventional ceramic glass units – scratches caused by sand are even reduced by up to 80%. As a result, hob units with ceramic glass with a matt finish retain their high-end pristine appearance over time. Most induction hobs respond to the touch of a fingertip on the glass screen to operate them. And cooking often leaves behind unsightly fingerprints. Now, thanks to the new surface finish, fingerprints hardly stand a chance. This makes hob units even easier to clean than was previously the case.

Markings outlining the cooking zones are discreet and further underline the minimalistic design. Fine white lines indicate where pots, pans, casserole dishes or even a Gourmet griddle plate can be positioned. To provide contrast, the power level indicators are white.

Miele offers the new ceramic glass on the popular TwoInOne induction hob unit with an integrated extractor (KMDA 7876 FL) as well as on the high-powered model (KM 7576 FL) with six cooking zones which can be grouped into three versatile PowerFlex zones. Both models are frameless for flush or surface-mounted installation.

These induction hob units combine ideally with the built-in appliances and cooker hoods (further details in press release No. 108/2023) in the new obsidian black matt colour and hence appear to come from the same mould when installed in a kitchen.

The market launch for these appliances is scheduled for April 2024.
