Miele EasyStore: new tray and container system for dental instruments

Gütersloh/Cologne, March 25, 2025 No. 035/2025
  • Time savings of up to 70 per cent when reprocessing and lower costs for consumables

  • Holding 18 large trays per cycle, the system offers the highest capacity among undercounter machines

With the EasyStore tray and container system, which will be available from June 2025, Miele is offering a fast, cost-effective and sustainable solution for reprocessing dental instruments methodically and storing them safely until they are next used. All of its components are coordinated with each other and optimise how Miele undercounter thermal disinfectors, large-chamber disinfectors from the SlimLine series and sterilisers are used together. Staff will also benefit from the new products.

EasyStore comprises mesh trays, sterile containers and accessories. Consistent use of the system eliminates the need to place each instrument in the machine individually, saving time for personnel. All of the instruments are first placed in the trays, which can be operated with one hand and protect staff from injuries due to sharp instruments. Silicone bars can be adapted to position the instruments as required and prevent them from sliding around.

Once the trays have been completely filled, they are quick and easy to position in inserts that make ideal use of the wash cabinet in the washer-disinfector – up to 18 large trays can be loaded in one cycle, meaning Miele currently offers the highest capacity among undercounter machines. In addition, 44 lumened and other instruments can be placed in the machines. The larger machines from the SlimLine series, which are suitable for higher requirements in group practices or medical care centres, for example, have space for up to 40 large trays or 24 large trays and an additional 66 lumened instruments.

Additionally, Miele is now offering a special programme for reprocessing containers. As a result, there is no need to wipe out the containers, reducing the burden on staff and ensuring hygienic results.

No need to seal individual instruments before sterilisation

A further key advantage of the EasyStore system relates to the huge time savings achieved when preparing for sterilisation. After cleaning, the trays are placed fully in sterile containers, meaning individual instruments do not need to be sealed. With a cycle containing 120 instruments, for example, staff can save more than 50 minutes, equating to time savings of over 70 per cent. In addition, the costs of single-use packaging are reduced by more than 40 per cent, meaning investment in the new Miele system can pay for itself after just six months. What’s more, the significant reduction in waste saves on resources, benefiting the environment.

In terms of accessories, seals for the sterile containers, holders for the labels used to identify trays and containers before storage, and easy-to-replace permanent filters for the containers are available. All of the components of the EasyStore system have been designed for many years of use, meaning that a smooth supply of instruments is ensured over the long term. The same is also true of the rest of the portfolio and services that Miele offers from a single source to serve dental practices.
