Miele at Achema 2018: With slimline lab washers and practical features
New SlimLine generation, data documentation app and more
New Miele products simplify work in laboratories: Two washers requiring only a very small footprint marketed under the SlimLine logo, a new loading system – and an app for the wireless recording of reprocessing data. The live premiere is due to be staged at Miele's booth at the Achema 2018 in Frankfurt (June 11-14, Building 4.1, Stand H 15).
Freestanding SlimLine washers are as compact as they are roomy. Although only 65 cm wide, they offer ample space for the reprocessing of laboratory glassware. This for example is the result of telescopic racks which can be fitted at up to 4 levels in the chamber, allowing the optimum and highly flexible use of space. This ensures greater vertical clearance, allowing even large bottles with a volume of up to 50 l to be reliably cleaned.
For particularly short cycles, the use of an electrically heated boiler below the chamber is recommended. Additional process security is offered by optional conductivity monitoring in the final rinse – which might make sense when glassware with a high level of purity is required for analytical experiments.
The EasyLoad injector system has been devised to considerably simplify loading on many lab washers and allow improved use to be made of the load clearances in the lower and upper baskets. The heart and soul of the system is a new spray nozzle which will be available from the summer of 2018 in a variety of lengths and diameters. It is designed in such a way as to ensure that glasses which need to rest on the tip of the nozzle can be safely cleaned on the inside. At the same time, these nozzles allow load items to be positioned faster and simpler. The height adjustment of supports is no longer necessary. The EasyLoad system can be incorporated into an existing machine at any time to suit requirements: If needed, a rack on the injector module offers additional stability. In this case, laboratory glassware is introduced from above.
In the hustle and bustle of everyday work, the new DataDiary app which automatically receives cycle reports from a washer allows protocols to be created on a tablet PC – without the need for a cable, USB device or other intermediate steps. Data is automatically transferred from the lab washer to the mobile device at the end of each process stage, and documentation is performed automatically. This app is available for the Android operating system and from the end of June 2018 for iOS – and is compatible with PG 8583, PG 8583 CD and PG 8593 lab washers. These machines, too, are part and parcel of Miele's presentation in Frankfurt, together with its existing product portfolio which for instance includes process chemicals under the ProCare Lab label.
