Special programmes for mops, pads and cleaning cloths
Wherever large quantities of mops and cleaning cloths have to be reprocessed where space is at a premium, a Little Giant from Miele comes into its own: A compact washing machine with a load capacity of 8 kg called the PWM 508, for which there is also a matching dryer. With these machines, occupying just over half a square metre of floor space each, Miele is offering care and nursing homes maximum flexibility – for instance with accessories such as various plinths. All machines can be purchased outright, rented or leased.
The technology on board Little Giants, which have the same dimensions as their domestic counterparts, is designed for heavy use. On the washing machines, special programmes are available, alongside 15 standard cycles for mops, pads and cleaning cloths. These enable thermal and chemo-thermal disinfection followed by conditioning with liquid detergent and disinfectant. Residual moisture levels are selectable, ensuring that mops and cleaning cloths can be put to immediate use. Using the new and well-structured text display, users can quickly and intuitively select all programmes in up to 29 languages.
The patented pre-spinning phase up front has the effect of removing coarse soil and dirty water, allowing a greater volume of fresh water to enter the machine in the main wash. This allows detergent to reach its full capacity. In the case of microfibre mops, additional water is introduced at the end of the main wash. This improves rinsing efficiency and protects fibres.
If cleaning textiles are not needed immediately and are put into storage, a matching dryer (PDR 508) provides sterling services. Alongside vented models, an energy-efficient heat-pump model is also available – on sites where the installation of vent ducting is not possible, this model offers great choice in terms of where it can be sited.
Plinths for greater flexibility
Miele offers plinths in a variety of heights to facilitate ergonomic loading. Several models feature an integrated water container, providing the necessary weight so that there is no need to bolt the plinth to the floor. Both the plinth and the machine can be relocated at any time. In addition to this, there is also a special 75 cm plinth with an integrated lint filter box which filters out coarse debris and prevents it from being discharged into the pipework.
In installations where the drainage connection is in the wall, a drain pump provides the head height needed to raise the water to the drain pipe. Only Miele offers such a pump, including fine filter, which filters out foreign objects and is easy to clean.
All Little Giants can also be connected to the Miele MOVE online portal. Facility and care managers can browse operating data from the convenience of a PC, smartphone or tablet and see when a washing machine or tumble dryer is finished. Furthermore, Miele Service is accessible fast and a link to the Miele online shop allows detergents to be reordered with ease.
Durable and recyclable
High-quality components such as special heater elements are made from corrosion-proof materials which contribute to machine longevity. Machine service life is further extended by the availability of spare parts for up to 15 years from the time when series production ceases. And to ensure that there is no lasting impact on the environment, already at least 95% of all components used on Little Giants can be recycled.
