Fridge-freezer combination from Miele is the test winner

Gütersloh, 28. Juni 2024 Nr. 080/2024
  • Best energy efficiency of the built-in appliances at “Stiftung Warentest”

  • KFN 7734 C cools quietly and at a constant temperature

The KFN 7734 C fridge-freezer combination from Miele is an “environmentally friendly test winner”, according to the latest test by the German consumer test institute “Stiftung Warentest”. With the top score of 1.9, the Miele combi outperformed the other appliances in the built-in appliance category. A total of 22 built-in models were tested, including 16 fridge-freezers and six fridges. The results can be found in the 07/2024 issue of the magazine “test”.

“Best overall score, very good cooling score, best energy efficiency” was the rating in the test for the model categorised in energy efficiency class C. It also impressed with its good handling and was very quiet. It was awarded a “very good” for this, as well as for temperature stability during storage.

The fridge-freezer belongs to the K 7000 generation, which has recently been upgraded: The majority of the models improved by at least one energy efficiency class by optimising the insulation, among other things. Miele attaches great importance to ensuring the tested and declared energy efficiency over a long service life. The result was demonstrated here in the test, which examines real-life, in other words practical use. In comparison, the Miele appliance has the lowest electricity costs even over a service life of 15 years.

The KFN 7734 C is designed for a niche height of just under 180 centimetres and offers a total volume of 253 litres. The high-quality equipment ensures the best storage conditions and convenient operation: The “DynaCool” convection cooling system guarantees a uniform temperature throughout the entire refrigerator compartment. In the freezer compartment, the “NoFrost” eliminates the need for tedious manual defrosting.

The adjustable “FlexiBoard” shelf is particularly practical. The front part of the glass shelf can simply be slid under the rear shelf and does not need to be stored outside the refrigerator. This means that large containers such as tall bottles or carafes can be quickly stored in the fridge. A spacious drawer with adjustable humidity for storing fruit and vegetables, bright illumination with long-life LEDs and dishwasher-compatible inner door racks contribute to convenience, as does the door closing damping “SoftClose”. Like all Miele refrigerators, the KFN 7734 C is network-compatible. It is available at a price of 1,799 Euros.
