Everything under control at Miele
Miele under 'Inspired by Life' motto at IFA / Networked washing machine for top consumer benefits / XXL ovens now also for Europe
The washing machine texts a mobile phone when detergent levels are low. Hob units with a new frying sensor eliminate the risk of food burning. And not only does the coffee machine have 16 coffee specialties on offer, it also automatically descales. This and further technical highlights were unveiled today by three Miele Executive Directors at the Miele IFA 2015 press conference.
'All our new products serve to make the everyday lives of our customers just that bit more pleasant': these were the words used by Executive Director and Co-Proprietor Dr Reinhard Zinkann to explain Miele's 'Inspired for Life' motto for the IFA trade show. These include high-tech features such as precision frying with infrared sensors (TempControl) and the automatic descaling of coffee machines. Further clever details include a refrigerator with a blackboard front and a vacuum cleaner boasting top-notch energy efficiency – and with an optional 'Intensive' setting (Booster).
In closing, Miele Executive Director Dr Axel Kniehl presented the world's first networked dispensing system called EditionConn@ct. When detergent in the automatic dispensing system is low, the electronic controls on the Miele washing machine automatically send a text message via WLAN and the Internet to the user's smartphone or tablet. Re-ordering requires only three clicks – without even having to boot a computer, open a webshop or put items in a shopping basket. Deliveries are generally effected within two working days. 'Never before has it been so easy and convenient to achieve top-class results', was Axel Kniehl's summary. TwinDos from Miele, the world's only dispensing system for liquid detergent which, thanks to the two-phase principle, washes whites and/or heavily soiled loads spotlessly clean. Specially formulated UltraPhase 1 and 2 detergent is also only available from Miele.
The specific preferences of customers on the other side of the Atlantic are serviced by range cookers, XXL ovens modelled on their American counterparts and, depending on the model, offering an unparalleled range of cooking options. 'The response to these machines has exceeded our expectations by a long shot', said Executive Director and Co-Proprietor Dr Markus Miele at the IFA press conference, 'and we have therefore decided to launch these ranges in Europe, too'.
A new entry-line price point for dishwashers is further evidence that Miele is driven by customer needs: 'We know that our dishwashers enjoy a legendary reputation among young families, first-time buyers who then unfortunately turn to other brands for pecuniary reasons', Reinhard Zinkann reported. The recommended retail price now starts at € 599, even including a cutlery basket if the consumer so wishes. This is up to € 130 lower than previously. This 'Active' campaign series offers above all young target audiences a convincing alternative - products in Miele quality and tested to last 20 years.
